"What My Appalachian Trail Journey Taught Me"
Initially, upon first embarking on the A.T at Springer Mountain Georgia, I was only going to section hike for a month. However, several days in, the beauty on the trail and the amazing people I met along the way convinced me otherwise.
From February 27, 2016, to October 7, 2016, I've walked through some of the most beautiful landscapes the Appalachian Trail has to offer and met some of the most inspiring individuals on the trail I've ever met. I've learned so much in this short period of time, more than any classroom can ever teach you. One thing I've learned about myself is that the destination for myself personally, was and still is the journey.
No journey worth undertaking is without its challenges, trials, and tribulations.
That's the beauty of it.
You discover who you are as a person.
You discover your strengths and weaknesses.
You learn from your experiences.
Your start to understand other people's way of life and become well cultured because of it.
You become quick to learn from your mistakes.
The journey will break you down and harden you in all the right places.
You become a different person on the other side.
Every journey, no matter how big or small, in all aspects of life, begins the same way.
A single step forward in the direction you want to go.
